Kort Waddell – with 42 years of broadcast experience..

 

​Kort is a 2 time National Emmy Award winner, 9 time Emmy nominated for his visionary work on Dateline and NBC News.  As well as being an entertainment oriented producer, director (DGA), including being director of photography.  His credits cover a wide spectrum of news, documentary, sports and entertainment. 

 

 

Whether it’s shooting on location or in a studio; in and around Los Angeles, or half way around the world; Kort Waddell and RNP is a full service production provider with limitless resources to make your network’s production dreams become reality.

 

Throughout the years networks, cable entities and independent production companies have come to Kort and RNP with their projects. Producing, Directing and shooting television. From undercover assignments with Dateline NBC, to uncovering the beauty of the Miss Universe pageants.

 

    Kort is also a producer/director and has the eye/hand coordination that The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences richly awarded for his camera work on the MSNBC production "100 Days 1000 Voices", a cross country motor home trip that got up close a personal with voters leading up to the 2000 elections and for Dateline NBC on the North Hollywood shootout.

    Kort's center producing effort,  “The Game behind the Games, hosted by NBC News’ Keith Morrison, was a 1-hour special, looking at the preparation for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, which earned a Telly Award, The Communicator Award and An Aegis Award.

 

    Most recently Kort was Director of Photography on the 2022 theatrical released documentary "Truelove - the Film" a journey of a young girl with Williams Syndrome as she meets other with WS and brings attention to the disorder. Winning several film festival awards.

    In 2013 Kort along with Bonnie Brennan, produced the series "Fanatics" for REELZ Channel, spotlighting movie memorabilia collections of crazed fans. 

 

    For WTTW / PBS in 2007 Kort also produced/directed “David Broza at Masada”, a behind the scenes making of a sunrise concert near the Dead Sea in Israel for PBS.    

 

    In 2006, Kort  and Bonnie co-produced and undertook the demanding challenge of producing and capturing the cross country automobile event “The Great Race,” (synonymous with the Motion picture of the same name) a 14 day trek as 130 vintage automobiles crossed the nation.

 

    In 2003 he produced, directed and photographed “The Next Destination”, a joint venture with Travel+Leisure Magazine and CNBC, also winning the Communicator and Aegis Awards

 

 

With a long career of hard news, news magazine, sports, entertainment, documentaries and reality shows.
